Dumpster Rental Planning in Bearden
Bearden is the Kingston Pike neighborhood about five miles west of downtown Knoxville, named for former mayor Marcus De Lafayette Bearden. We deliver roll-off dumpsters throughout Bearden; confirm the exact address and date when you call (865) 309-5305.
Bearden mixes established homes, newer infill houses, and small commercial spaces along and just off Kingston Pike. Typical projects are bathroom and kitchen remodels, small-business buildouts, attic cleanouts, and infill teardowns. Lots can be narrow with mature trees, so a 10 or 15-yard container is often the easiest fit on a short driveway.
Starting prices include 2 tons on the 10, 15, and 20-yard sizes and 3 tons on the 30-yard, with seven rental days. Weight over the allowance is $85 per ton and extra days are $15 each.

Permits and right-of-way
The City of Knoxville parking permit application lists dumpsters as a type of work that can reserve public parking space. If the container would sit on a street, in a parking space, or on a sidewalk, contact the City's Engineering Department or call 311 at (865) 215-4311 before delivery. A driveway placement avoids most of these questions.
Commercial tenants along Kingston Pike should also check with the property manager about where a container can sit without blocking parking or fire lanes.
Placement on small lots
A 10-yard container needs less length than a 20 or 30-yard, which helps on short Bearden driveways. Leave room for the truck to back straight in, and move vehicles and trash carts before the delivery window.
Keep the container off the City's brush pile spot. City brush piles must be within 5 feet of the street and away from mailboxes, vehicles, and utility meters.
Disposal and drop-off sites
The City of Knoxville Solid Waste Facility transfer station at 1033 Elm St takes garbage and construction or demolition debris at $70 per ton and loads with shingles at $80 per ton. It does not accept loads over 4 tons, limits rock, brick, concrete, or dirt to two wheelbarrows per trip, and takes cards only, no cash. Scale house: (865) 215-6700.
The first Saturday of each month, unless closed for a holiday, is a free day for City of Knoxville residents at the Elm St transfer station. Commercial vehicles and trailers over 2,500 pounds are not allowed that day.
Privately owned landfills the City of Knoxville lists for fee-based disposal: Chestnut Ridge Landfill, 140 Fleenor Mill Rd, Heiskell (off Raccoon Valley Rd and I-75); Poplar View Landfill, 1730 McMillan Station Rd, Knoxville, (865) 525-7720; and Riverside C&D Landfill, 3330 Delrose Dr, Knoxville. Call ahead for fees and accepted materials.
Trash, brush, and bulk items
City of Knoxville crews collect brush every two weeks from March through October on a week-of schedule; set brush out by 7 a.m. Monday of your week. Piles must be within 5 feet of the street, no larger than 6 x 6 x 6 feet, free of construction debris, and without stumps or limbs over 12 inches across. Brush from paid tree contractors is not collected. Open burning is prohibited inside city limits.
City bulky pickup takes up to five items per week after you place a bulky alert through 311. Construction, renovation, and demolition waste, including doors, windows, toilets, cabinets, flooring, and lumber, is not eligible for bulky pickup. That material is what a roll-off dumpster is for.
Recycling and hazardous waste
The closest City recycling drop-off is the west center at 341 Park Village Rd. Household hazardous waste such as paint, solvents, and pool chemicals goes to the City of Knoxville Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 1033 Elm St, which serves both city and Knox County residents. Call (865) 215-6710 for hours. Paint, liquids, and batteries are not allowed in our dumpsters.
Scrap metal can go free to the Elm St transfer station or to CMC Recycling Knoxville, 2706 Mynderse Ave NW, (865) 867-7364. Pulling metal and clean concrete out of a mixed load helps you stay inside the weight allowance.
